Course Description

This program is intended for control technicians whose site has a Mark™ VIe control system with ActivePoint™ HMI.  The training will familiarize trainees with the hardware and software components and provides detailed knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain the Mark™ VIe control system and associated equipment.

The course is modular and robust and includes training material derived from actual Mark™ VIe installed systems.  Training is performed with short lessons followed by labs.  The hands-on labs are performed on an HMI computer connected to Mark™ VIe training hardware specially programmed to simulate a turbine.  The labs are progressively challenging and assist the trainees to learn the basics and build up to intermediate skills including alarm and system troubleshooting.

Please note:  This course is instructed with a generic Gas or Steam Turbine HMI and 7FA control simulation.

• Forcing and adjusting live signal values
• How to generate software reports
• Configuring the trend program to view live signal values
• Learn how to use high speed data acquisition and viewing tools
• How to review and analyze short term alarm and event data
• Methods to automatically create a trend file based on a signal change
• How to trace an alarm to its origin using the controller configuration software
• How to start the HMI screen viewing software and navigate the screens
• Understand the procedure to start and operate a turbine from the HMI
