Course Description |
This course will familiarize the participant with the more common currently installed exhaust gas thermocouples and recommended practices for proper inspection, testing, removal, and installation, to help prevent exhaust gas thermocouple failure, thus reducing the number of gas turbine trips. Also, will recapitulate several old-style exhaust gas thermocouples that may still be in use, and will also introduce the participant to the new and improved exhaust gas thermocouples. He will learn about the features and advantages of the currently recommended exhaust gas thermocouples. In addition, he will learn how to perform routine inspections and tests prior to thermocouple installation to ensure optimal turbine performance. This course will also provide recommendations for improving the overall exhaust gas thermocouple replacement process. Finally, the participant will identify the safety measures to consider while replacing older style exhaust gas thermocouples.
